Composting is a biological process that is performed by microorganisms (fungi, bacteria, etc..) And other larger organisms (worms, small insects, etc.).. The activity of the agencies, would bring the temperature of the material reaching high values should not exceed 65-70 ° C.

The process needs to perform three fundamental requirements: that the materials have a balanced content of wet and dry debris, the mixture has enough ventilation and that there is a certain amount of water during the early stages of the process.

If these conditions guarantee the process will start normally reaching high temperatures at first, then at the end of the process, room temperature.

It is important to keep humidity around 60% during the early stages of the process, since the organisms responsible for decomposition of the materials require a certain water content for its activity.

During the composting process the temperature must be controlled. In the early stages of the process the temperature must reach values close to 65 °C. Do not exceed values greater because many organisms can die. To monitor the temperature with a thermometer there a long tube (1 m) which tell the temperature inside. If you do not have a thermometer, we can put your hand to make a direct observation.

It is also necessary to control the humidity so that it does not drop during the first phase, 60%. This point of moisture is like a sponge just drained.

Aeration is achieved by turning the material every so often. The dump is performed when the temperature drops too low (less than 30-40 ° C), so that once the dump, the temperature goes up to values close to 50-60 ° C. The more we turn further accelerate the process, however, turning every 15 or 30 days can be enough to process four to six months.
